Daft thought, but is Rivendell (and CAED) running as the same user as jackd?
Also IIRC jackd defaults to 44.1Khz sr, have you got Rivendell setup for this
rate, or ase you using the system at 48Khz?
At the moment Jack (and all its clients) are probably best run as root, this
avoids much pain.
