A catch up post for Josiah!
I really need to do a better job of posting because there are so many stories that I keep forgetting. Josiah is growing up so fast and has so many “instersting” things to tell us. He still acts his age a lot, but is getting better at listening and is very polite. Sometimes he’ll just say, “I’m so proud of you Mom.”
Very cute! His big interests right now are Buzz and Woody from Toy Story, anything from the Cars movie, and his friends. He loves to go to Market Mall to see his buddies! I am so blessed to have such an amazing group of friends here and so blessed that my kids do too! Here are some pictures from this summer of my fun little boy!
Josiah is such a nice brother! He does get annoyed that Abby is into his stuff already, but takes time to give her kisses and find her toys that she likes. He even bought her a car (the King) for Christmas!
He has also been a big “helper” with all our house renovations. Josiah and his buddy Avyn had lots of fun playing in the drywall dust and then helping their mommies paint. They were so dirty and had so much fun!
Work hard, sleep hard.
Busy painting with Daddy! This was his favorite job and we let him paint inside the closets.
Work hard, sleep hard again!
Painting Abigail’s room. I’ll do a post about the house later. You can tell by the picture how proud he was of himself!
Random story time. In these last few pictures Josiah is modeling his very cool painting clothes — a t-shirt and pull-up. We have had a very long, long time of trying to potty train him with no success until recently. We have tried charts, stickers, candies, chocolate, train-in-a-day methods, different kinds of pull-ups, little potty, big potty, sitting, standing, etc… Argh! I was starting to get frustrated because it seemed like he knew what to do, but was deciding not to. Finally a few weeks ago we found the trick! He really wanted the big Buzz Lightyear toy so I told him he better make some money. He asked how to make money and so I put a paper cup on the bathroom counter and told him I’d pay him to pee or poop. Bingo! Light bulb moment! He’s had a few accidents since, but really has done amazing. He bought Buzz off kijiji (I know. I have an addiction, but this way he didn’t have to save until he was a teenager! lol!) and is VERY proud of himself! He took his cup full of change to the lady selling Buzz and she was proud of him too and even gave him a second little Buzz for free when he told her he got money for going potty. Yes. I paid him to potty train. Sounds expensive, but so are diapers!
My cutie at a summer picnic! (This is where he would correct me and say “No Mom, I’m handsome!”
He wore this “cowboy hat” and his “Robert boots” every day in the summer!
Josiah loved playing in the lake up at Heritage. It was freezing cold that weekend and we all wore jackets the entire time. Didn’t stop the kids though!
My handsome boys! Josiah tells me that when he is big like Daddy he will be bigger than Daddy.
We were able to go down to the farm to visit “Brown Grandma” and “Brown Grandpa” during harvest. Josiah spent a few hours every day out on the combine and Grandma bought him his own little toy combine. He came back to Saskatoon and explained to all his friends how the combine worked.
I was reading through my facebook status updates and found a bunch of Josiah moments that made me smile. Decided to put them here so I don’t forget
.
Melissa Orr enjoys that Josiah has insisted on everyone calling him “Buzz Lightyear” for the last three days. He even pokes his own chest and says “to infinity and beyond!”.
Melissa Orr was kinda excited when Josiah told me “don’t call me Buzz anymore” until he finished with “I am Andy”.
Melissa Orr is tired of Josiah calling himself “Andy” and not listening to me because his name is Andy now. I liked it better when he was Buzz Lightyear! Funny kid!
Melissa Orr Josiah just told me that Abby turned him back into Josiah. No more Andy! Yay!
Melissa Orr is doing laundry and watching Mary Poppins with Abby and a pirate who is wearing an eyepatch, backwards clothes, and is singing “hickry, dickry, duck”. I love my kids!
Melissa Orr “Wow. God made Lightening McQueen’s eyes blue just like mine!” — Josiah
Melissa Orr watched a movie with three toddlers this morning. One called it “pokie-o”, another “pee-o-co”, and the third said he was watching “hokey-dokey-o”!
Melissa Orr is happy that Josiah had his last opthamologist appointment today and everything looked great!
