Abigail is 3 months old already! She is getting so good at holding up her head and has discovered that she can chew on her hands. A lot of fun! She has been sleeping really well and her favorite thing is her fuzzy blanket. Josiah loves to hold her and give her kisses! Here are some pictures of our beautiful girl!

Josiah keeps life interesting! He has so many things that he loves. In this picture he is sleeping with his “pack pack” on, he has his soother, 3 bwankies, and his cowboy hat (the brown and flowered hat by his knee). He also needs his big boy blanket from Grandma Bell and his McQueen blanket from Auntie May. Missing from this picture, but also frequently used at bedtime are his 4 keychains from the toy story movie and he actually wore a bike helmet to bed one night. All very complicated, but at least he sleeps well
.
Josiah loves to sing! He knows the words to songs like “Woody’s round-up” and “Twinkle, twinkle”. He also helps make up songs about Lightening McQueen. His favorite song and dance is the “Pee pee on the potty” celebration dance (which unfortunately we don’t do often enough). Robert is really the most talented at that so I’ll have to try catch it on video sometime.
The words he comes up with are also hilarious. When we were at the farm Josiah asked my Mom’s friend “And what would your name be?”. He speaks very well for his age, but still has some funny words. He sits on the grouch, complains when he can’t get outside because the door is knock, and in the bathtub he plays with his Robert ducky. This week he had us so confused. He says “I’m kinda scratchy” then he punches each arm and kicks each leg and finishes with his arms in the air saying “Scratchy like a big Robert monkey”. It is so funny! Robert finally realized today that he heard that line on the animal mechanicals cartoon. The Sasquatch says “I’m feeling kinda stretchy… stretchy like a big rubber monkey.” I don’t really feel bad that I couldn’t figure that one out!
He is getting creative at how he asks for things too. He asks to go for “just a little walk” and a couple nights ago told me it was time for his bedtime movie. Nice try kid! He is so energetic and loves to go for walks, climb things, and go down slides.
That’s enough stories for tonight. I’m worried that someday I’ll forget all these little moments and since I’m not a scrapbooker I’ll just put them here. I love my sweet little boy!

We went on our first major family vacation during the last two weeks of March! We traveled with my parents and drove down to Oklahoma. We enjoyed visits with relatives in Nebraska, saw Stephen in Oklahoma city, and then Stephen went with us on to Tulsa to the Tulsa Soul Winning Workshop. It was a great trip! The kids were very good travelers and we had a lot of adventures!
Here is how Josiah passed a few hours on the trip. We knew if we took along the Toy Story II DVD we could make the long drive easily
. He really enjoyed reading books and singing songs with Grandma. Josiah was sick the first couple days of the trip. I think he just had the flu, but he got a fever and had a seizure in the car while we were traveling. Not fun! It was a typical febrile seizure that only lasted a couple minutes, but it still made it hard to relax and enjoy the trip that day. God is good to us and to our little boy. We were thankful that he started feeling better and that we were still able to go and have a good time.

On the way down Josiah got to meet two of his second cousins, Victoria and Alexandra. He was excited to have little kids to play with after a couple days of riding in the car.

We went to the Omaha Zoo in Nebraska and LOVED it! It was great to experience the zoo through the eyes of two year olds! Here is a shot of our group at the zoo. Grandpa was the photographer on this one!

Here are some collages I made on Picasa when I was playing on the computer one evening.

Our second big stop of the trip was to see Uncle Stephen. It was fun to see where my little brother lives and works. Josiah especially liked his cool chair!

In Tulsa we attended a lot of sessions by amazingly gifted speakers. Everyone who can should take advantage of opportunities like the Tulsa Workshop. It is so encouraging to hear lessons and stories from great speakers! The speaker that stood out the most to me was Patrick Mead. He was very funny and very passionate about his ministry in Detroit. I would highly recommend finding some of his lessons online. Here is a picture of how Josiah “listened” to many of the afternoon lessons.

Abigail listened to most of them the same way
.

A highlight of the trip for us was meeting up with Robert’s friends, Gary and Melody. It was so fun and encouraging to spend time with them and Josiah is still talking about his friend Katy!

We also were happy to hear Acappella in concert again! Josiah jumped up and down on my lap. It was fun to see how excited he was!

Uncle Stephen was a lot of fun and a big help with Josiah. The two walked a million miles and Stephen taught Josiah how to jump down steps. Once Stephen walked in circles with Josiah around a big room for about 45 minutes and then Robert took over. A stranger said to my mom “Look at that cute little boy with the hat. He already wore out one man and now is onto another.” I was grateful to have help from my parents, brother, and Robert on the trip. Josiah has so much energy!

Here is the group shot Sunday morning before we all headed back home.

When Stephen was up for Christmas we were still waiting for Abby to arrive. It was nice that she could meet her Uncle Stephen!

We had some very interesting weather on our trip. The drive to Nebraska was great. Sunny skies and smooth sailing! After that things got interesting. We got to hear tornado sirens in Nebraska, saw a blizzard hit Tulsa, and saw the results of flooding in Fargo. We had to come back to Saskatchewan to get some nice weather! Here are some random weather pics. Sorry there are none of the tornado. We were hiding in the back of a store at the time.

This pic is one of my favorites! My boys were so excited about making a snowman when we stopped for lunch that they didn’t even pay attention to where they were building it. Notice the signs on the tree behind them!

The advantage of the crazy weather was that we had a couple extra days to spend with Uncle Terry and Auntie Karen, and Josiah had some time to play with Grandpa. This is the first headstand lesson.

All together a wonderful trip with many great memories! Thank-you Grandpa and Grandma for taking us on a great adventure!

Abby turned 2 months old the first day of our trip to Oklahoma (March 20th). I once again forgot to pack her little dog for size comparison, but I did take a few pictures that day so here they are! She is now learning to smile and coo. She isn’t a big fan of tummy time, but she is getting stronger and likes to sit and hold her head up. She is such an easy-going baby. Very content, rarely cries unless she’s starving, and was a wonderful traveler!
For those of you who may be concerned, she did not ride here in the car. She was in her carseat the whole time the car was moving.

She saves all her best talking and smiles for Grandpa!

This looks like smiling, but it was actually complaining!

Pretty blue eyes!

Here are some more pictures to enjoy. Kinda random from the last few weeks. These are the many faces she makes.
The story teller.

The frog.

The napper.

The cuddler.

The innocent.

The joker.

The skeptical.

The thinker.

The protected by big brother.

The admiring.

The bathing beauty.

The comforted.

The flirt.

The blue eyes.

The sleeper (in a drawer!)

The smiley.

The big girl.
