Josiah was laughing so hard that I thought I should capture the moment. He doesn’t laugh as hard at the end of the videol because he gave himself the hiccups from laughing so hard! (He does this often.)

Today is Robert’s first real Father’s day. Josiah is a lot like his Grandma Bell and was too impatient to wait until today to give his Dad a present so Robert got his unicycle a couple weeks early. Very creative idea for a baby! Today we got to go out for lunch with Robert’s sister Glenda and her kids and with his parents. When we got home we fed Josiah his first “real food”. He liked the rice cereal and totally knew how to eat it. I think he has been watching Linaya so he had it all figured out. Here is a picture.

This one is just cute.

Today Josiah went for a doctor check up. He is massive as expected. He is five and a half months old, 20 pounds and 27 inches tall. That puts him in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. The doctor was very impressed with how well he did sitting and on his tummy and said she has absolutely no concerns about him. We can start trying some rice cereal anytime now.
Here is a random picture because I can’t post without pics!

This pic is of Xavier, Niles, and Josiah on Niles’ birthday. He’s four years old now and really likes to be a big cousin. Did anyone say cheese?

This weekend we joined a bunch of people from church in helping Lynn shingle her house. We had a good size work crew and even a couple of guys who knew what they were doing. I discovered that I can actually swing a hammer with reasonable accuracy and I am getting old and shingling hurts the next day! We had perfect weather and a lot of fun. Here is part of the work crew up on the roof.

Here is Lynn pounding in nails with Emma and Lindsay in the background. This picture is proof that Lindsay got up on the roof.

Emma was awesome up there, but not the youngest worker. Xavier got to join us on the roof and was very excited to wear a tool belt and finish hammering in a few nails. He actually finished putting in at least a dozen!

Niles preferred the trampoline!

This is Robert and I on the shed. Unfortunately we didn’t get the shed done, but we got the paper up.

Here is a picture of Josiah with his Grandpa Orr at supper time. Harold was the crew cheif and worked circles around most of us.

Here he is with Grandpa again at lunch today. They were having a lot of fun playing patty-cake.

Last night when I put Josiah to bed I was quite proud of myself that I didn’t let him get eaten alive by all of the mosquitos. Apparently I spoke too soon because this morning bites showed up all over his face and arms. Poor guy! He has still been happy and showing off how he can smile while sucking his bottom lip.

This is just a nice pic of Monica and Linaya from a few days ago.

The last pic is very typical this week. Josiah has absolutely perfected rolling from his back to his stomach. He keeps rolling and either falls asleep on his stomach (rarely) or complains until I flip him back. He really needs to learn the rest of the trick so he won’t get as frustrated. I’m sure he’ll be into everything in no time!

The day that Josiah got out of the hospital my camera broke. We eventually figured out that the camera still took good pictures, but the lens wouldn’t come out on its own so we had to pull and twist exactly right and then we could take pictures. Very annoying. It is really hard to capture a moment when it takes 30 seconds to turn the camera on. Last week Robert bought me a new camera for my birthday (almost 3 months early!) so I have been having lots of fun taking pictures again. These first few are just cute.

Janet and Kellen came to Saskatoon this week for a course so Kellen joined our daycare again. He liked going for walks the best so we got a lot of exercise this week. This is Kellen and Linaya in Monica’s new stroller.

My Mom and Dad bought this short set for Josiah while on vacation in Mexico. The way that he has been growing they were worried that it wouldn’t fit by summer. It fits, looks very cute, and was great for our very hot weather this week!

I bought Josiah a splash pool a couple weeks ago and we had perfect weather to try it out on Friday. The kids all loved it! It took a few minutes for them to get comfortable with the idea, but soon Linaya was splashing and Kellen joined in. Josiah is so easy-going that he just sat and watched them. I was having a lot of fun with the camera and took about a hundred pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

Diane spoiled the babies and bought them UV outfits for the summer. Very stylish!

Josiah is working hard at sitting up lately. If he doesn’t get too excited he can sit for 2-3 minutes on his own. I don’t leave him alone because when he decides he’s done he throws himself backwards.
